The site
The Weserpark gives us one connected site of around 36,000 square metres, split into parking areas and camping areas. The parking areas take up the largest part of the grounds; tents go up on the adjoining lawns. Both areas work on a first come, first served basis – you cannot reserve an individual spot. The earlier you arrive, the more choice you have.

Where to stay
Hann. Münden is a popular place in summer – and in late July the half-timbered town and the Weser cycle route are well booked. Sort out your room early; the good addresses are often gone months in advance.
Hotels & guesthouses
If you would rather stay in a hotel or a guesthouse, you will find plenty of options in and around Hann. Münden – from simple to comfortable. Rooms can often only be booked a few months ahead through portals such as booking.com. There is a directory of local accommodation at Erlebnisregion Hann. Münden.
Airbnb
If you want a bit more privacy, or a relaxed place to stay with your club, your family or your friends, have a look at Airbnb. In and around Hann. Münden you will find lots of cosy places – from an apartment to a whole house. That keeps you flexible and lets you plan your stay at your own pace.
Camping
The lawns on the site are our camping areas. Kept simple, but you are right in the middle of it – and you sleep on grass. A camping slot costs €5 per vehicle for all three days, on top of your ticket. There are 120 camping slots in total.

Everything you need to know about camping
Barbecuing is allowed, but open fire – a campfire, for example – is not. Check-in is on Friday between 10 am and 10 pm, and on Saturday from 9 am. Everyone gets a spot big enough for themselves, a tent and the MX-5, with about 5 square metres per person. Groups of five MX-5 or more can register in advance and camp together as one camp, and they may also put up a gazebo (3x3 metres). Only tents are allowed; motorhomes, campervans and trailers are not permitted, unless the trailer is towed by an MX-5. There is no electricity, and quiet hours run from midnight to 7 am. Toilets are open around the clock. With your TidM ticket you can shower free of charge at the Hochbad in Hann. Münden between 8 am and 8 pm. Please note that these are not individual shower cubicles.
Food & drink
Nobody has to go hungry. We prepare everything for the weekend, but you are expressly welcome to cater for yourself on site. Whether you book all three days, pick out single items or feed yourself entirely is up to you.
We start on Friday evening with the BBQ night, on Saturday and Sunday morning there is a breakfast buffet, and on Saturday evening the Schnitzel Dream is waiting for you. These three buffets need to be booked in advance through the TidM app, because we plan firm numbers and want neither leftovers nor empty plates. Booking opens in spring 2027 and requires a TidM ticket.
On top of that, food trucks and catering are on the grounds all weekend, plus the beer garden, which is open every day and stays open longer in the evening. Neither needs a booking – you simply pay on site.
Your own cool box, your own barbecue, your own breakfast at the tent: all allowed. Grilling is only permitted on gas barbecues, though; open fire stays off limits. And we have two requests: please bring as little packaging as possible, and put your rubbish in the bins provided. We leave the site the way we found it.
App
The app is your ticket and your programme in one. Your ticket lives in the app, so you cannot get onto the site without it, and you book all the extras – the three buffets or the drives – straight from it.
You will also find all the important information about TidM there. Two weeks before the event at the latest, everything is in place, from the detailed programme to every relevant note for your stay in Hann. Münden. That lets us react quickly to last-minute changes and saves a lot of paper at the same time.
The app will be available in spring 2027 in the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
Drives
There are both guided tours and routes we have planned for you. You sign up in advance in spring 2027 through our reservation and booking system. If you prefer to go your own way, you can also pick from several ready-planned tours – with no scout along.
On the noticeboards at the info point you can also offer your own drives. Anyone interested can add their name to the lists there, as long as places are free.
Fun-Rallye
Once an orienteering run, today a fun rally: in 2027 the Fun-Rallye starts fully digital. There are 50 starting places in total.
The driving part stays, and a few tasks on site come with it. You no longer need a paper roadbook, because the driving instructions come straight to you through the app. You will be out for around three hours. If you want to take part, we recommend arriving on Friday; a smartphone and a co-driver are required.
The entry fee is €10.
Show & Shine
Some people put an incredible amount of time, love and creativity into their MX-5. At the Show & Shine those cars get their stage, and you decide which one wins in the end.
How it works
No sign-up needed. Every TidM participant is automatically up for election, so you can vote for any car on the site. NA, NB, NC and ND are judged separately, and each model series ends up with its own winner. Voting happens in the app, and everyone at the event can vote.
1. Friday and Saturday: the qualifying round
It starts on Friday at 10 am. Walk around the site, look at the cars and cast your vote for whoever you like. You have until Saturday 5 pm.
2. From Saturday 5 pm: the final
The ten best-placed cars from each model series go through. You can see who made it in the app, and from that moment you can vote among the finalists. You have until Sunday 11:30 am.
3. Sunday morning: the parade
Before voting closes, the finalists drive up one more time. Everyone gets two minutes to introduce themselves and their car. If you still have not made up your mind, this is your last chance.
4. The award ceremony
On Sunday the winners of the four model series are honoured on stage.
MX-5-Limbo
It was tried out at TidM for the first time in 2014, and it has been part of the weekend ever since: the fun contest on Friday evening that always ends with half the site standing at the edge watching. A foam bar lies across the track and is lowered by two centimetres after every round. You drive underneath it with the roof down, sitting normally, of course. What looks relaxed at the start becomes a matter of centimetres from round to round, and whoever is left at the end wins.
The rules are quickly told: roof down, windows down, the driver sitting normally in the seat. To be clear up front, modifying the car is not allowed. You drive belted up and at walking pace, and a helmet is not needed :-). Drive faster and you are out, and if the car or the driver touches the bar, the run does not count. If several people end up level, a run-off at the lowest height decides it.
Tourism
On Friday evening and Saturday afternoon you can join a guided tour of the old town – one of the most beautiful half-timbered towns in Germany, with more than 700 houses from six centuries packed into a small area.
Saturday afternoon also takes us onto the water: we have chartered the MS Weserstein exclusively, two and a half hours on the Fulda and the Weser, with only TidM people on board. We have booked all of this exclusively for TidM participants; booking opens in spring 2027 and runs solely through our TidM app, for as long as places are free.
History
For many years the „Treffen in der Mitte“ – TidM for short – was one of the best known and biggest Mazda MX-5 meetings in Germany. For a lot of people the weekend at the Weserpark in Hann. Münden was a fixture in the scene’s calendar. At the same time, the history of TidM was shaped by organisational challenges, changing conditions and different developments within the community. The summary below looks back at the most important milestones, highlights and events from more than 20 years.
2005
As there was no mx-5.de annual meeting in 2005, members of the MX-5 Freunde Nordhessen organised a meeting at the Weserpark in Hann. Münden. Holger L. and Thorsten L. led the way. Around 400 MX-5 took part.
2006
Even though the mx-5.de annual meeting did take place, more than 300 MX-5 came. During the planning phase the original organising team shrank to four people.
2008
This year a caterer was brought in for the first time, who from then on acted as the organiser and took on organisational and structural tasks. The formal role of organiser therefore no longer sat directly with the organising team. Promotion, organisation within the scene and running the event weekend itself, however, remained the responsibility of the organising team. This model – an organiser on site and an organising team from the community – was kept until 2020. 395 MX-5 took part.
2012
Holger L., the last remaining member of the founding group, supported a new organising team and handed over to Thomas H., Nina M., Janin M. and Sebastian L. Around 400 MX-5 were on site.
2013
391 MX-5 took part. Mazda Germany set up a car bowling.
2014
365 MX-5 were on site. The MX-5 Car Limbo was run for the first time.
2015
403 MX-5 took part. Mazda Germany presented the MX-5 ND on site for the first time. 10 years of TidM were celebrated.
2016
430 MX-5 were on site. Participants were able to sign the 1,000,000th MX-5. Mazda Germany also showed a driving simulator and presented the MX-5 RF.
2018
Det Müller was there as the star guest. Mazda provided a photo box and showed the new MX-5 Skyactiv-G 184 exclusively ahead of its market launch. A total of 370 MX-5 took part. After muted feedback from the community, the organising team decided to pause TidM in 2019.
